about

Everyone falls in love. Sometimes when they shouldn't. In his newest EP "The Monotony Monopoly", Cody England goes through the emotions of an impossible crush. The desire, sadness, love sickness, realization/healing, and hope for the future all wrapped respectively in their own short song.
"The Monotony Monopoly" unlike "The Metal Man from Hamburger Land" always has a real song structure, and is much more lyrically driven. This is most apparent in the songs "The Park Bench" and "All in My Head". The latter being Cody's personal favorite on the EP. Like "The Metal Man from Hamburger Land", This release has a lo-fi electronic sort of feel to it. However "The Monotony Monopoly" has a more refined sound, using mostly sounds from Cody's aging GEM home organ, and having been recorded with better equipment.

For an old friend and crush. We both found our happiness.
A special thanks to my wonderful friend Nico Stoddard, for always supporting me and being there to talk.

Track Name: Only For You
Can you
see me
I shine
only for you
Do you
need me
I am
only for you

Hey you
sitting
by the
edge of my seas
I can
help you
i am
striving to please

life is
discord
it can
cut like a knife
I am
waiting
for you
feel of my strife
Track Name: Something Nothing
take me somewhere new
where the sky is blue
the hours far to few
Nothing I can do

nothing nothing
for you for me
tell me tell me
what i can be

I can not be free
no apparent glee
all that my heart needs
swallowed by the sea

nothing nothing
for you for me
tell me tell me
what i can be
Track Name: The Park Bench
she has
the most gorgeous face
she sees through me
and avoids embrace

she is
wrapped in golden rays
my hearts bleeding
when i feel her grace

is it
such a god-damn sin
I still need her
I can not pretend

too late
nothing left to save
life's commitments
I have dug grave

why do
do i still complain
I have some one
eases all the pain
Track Name: All in My Head
I feel something
that I can not say
only she knows
what we did that day

long ago when I fled
burried and dead
all in my head her love is
all in my head

curves of sugar
pulling me away
God, I want it
but i've got to stay

long ago when I fled
burried and dead
all in my head her love is
all in my head

dreams of loving
making me her prey
sex is nothing
but a game she plays

long ago when I fled
burried and dead
all in my head her love is
all in my head

long ago when I fled
burried and dead
all in my head her love is
all in my head
